Project 3 - two walk cycles

Here is the project file... http://www.mediafire.com/?gotjkymtdwd

And this is the final avi of it has not been able to load directly onto this blog so I compressed that and posted it on media fire as well... http://www.mediafire.com/?hmzndnqy0cq

Something on my render settings messed up the texture on the wall Gnoman is sneaking along and did not render the red bricks that were there. I think it was because all of the raytracing options were off so that it would render faster. I haven't gotten the time to try another render and test this hypothesis.

I think that my sneaking walk cycle became very buggy and would like you to just scroll on down past it to the completed scenes from Shaping Up and Enemy of My Enemy to see much better work...

And here is the .avi for those of you who just want to watch it...

Production of 'Enemy of My Enemy'

I animated four shots for our class project Enemy of My Enemy. On the last day of class Alex and I switched some of our original shots so that we could animate more efficiently. My shots included numbers 30, 42, 43, and 56. Shot 30 is fully rendered and is ready to be submitted to the project editor. I found the animating to be pretty easy for me to understand because most of my shots were simply importing image sequences onto the faces of the computer and iphone and then choosing where to place the camera. I did find it challenging because all of my files were saved onto my travel drive and every time I opened a scene on a different computer I would have to reset my project folder and re-import my image sequences. I've started to get really good at resetting all of my project files because the travel drive is marked differently and my scene cannot find the image sequences. The only shot that I do not have a playblast or completed render for is shot 42, because my job is to animate sparks shooting out of the PC's tower and I honestly have no idea how to animate it. I was worried at first that my shots were moving too fast, particularly shot 43, but they are all reaction shots of the PC's face so I suppose it would make the story drag if it lasted too long.

Shaping Up was a much harder project for me to work on. The scene I am working on is of Junior in a doctors office trying to stretch himself out to become bigger, but fails and becomes even shorter! I was fortunate that my shot is the only one in this doctor's office set, because it has taken me a long time to model items in it, modeling is a lot tougher for me than animating scenes. Plus this means that the only file I have to import from Shaping Up is the Junior character. I am having a lot of difficulty putting together a video to present to our class because my renders keep crashing, I believe it may have something to do with the fact that I am using my computer at home and often working on other things at the same time. I was also originally modeling a tall rectangular character for this project, but I fell behind and did not complete it by the due date. I think it is probably for the best because several other people modeled tall rectangular characters as well and it could have been confusing in the final project.

I thought that I could speed through a lot of these shots for both projects, but I was dead wrong! I wanted to get all of my final renders for Enemy done so that I could put all of my attention on one film at a time. I completely underestimated how long the rendering process would take and am now behind on Shaping Up.

Project 2 - Character Design

These are some screen shots of my work on Project two...

Here is the link to my project 2 file... http://www.mediafire.com/?nuyzitunt2d

The reference I used for the rectangle character in Shaping Up is the logo from an online series called "SuperNews":

Here is the character sketch of my character (created in Photoshop)

And included below is the clay maquette I created for him as well.
